In this interesting paper, the author considers the free boundary of the porous medium equation with nonlocal drifts in dimension one. More precisely, consider, in space dimension one, \begin{align*} \rho_t&=(\rho^m)_{xx}+(\rho V+\rho W*\rho)_x \text{ in } \mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}^+\\ \rho(x,0)&=\rho_0(x) \text{ on } \mathbb{R}, \end{align*} where \(V, W\) are assumed to be bounded in \(C^k_{x,t}(\mathbb{R}\times[0,\infty))\) for each \(k\ge 0\) and \(m>1\). It is also assumed \(\rho_0\ge 0\), and that it is bounded and compactly supported. Assuming the initial data has super-quadratic growth at the free boundary, the author proves that the solution is smooth in space and \(C^{2,1}_{\text{loc}}\) in time. The free boundary is then proved to be \(C^{2,1}_{\text{loc}}\). If the drift is assumed to be local, both the solution and the free boundary are proved to be smooth. The first main result of the paper is a regularity result of the solution and the drift, which is uniform in \(\mathbb{R}\) and locally uniform in time. This result is later used to prove non-degeneracy. The author then proves that the free boundary is Lipschitz continuous. The second main result of the paper follows next, the non-degeneracy. From this, the regularity of the free boundary follows.
