The class of groups \(G(A,L)\), introduced by \textit{I. J. Leary} and \textit{A. Minasyan} [Geom. Topol. 25, No. 4, 1819--1860 (2021; Zbl 07379437)], is defined as commensurating HNN-extension of \(\mathbb{Z}^{n}\) (for a precise definition, see the paper under review). This class, containing the class of Baumslag-Solitar groups, also includes other groups with interesting properties, such as being CAT(0) but not biautomatic. The aim of the paper under review is to study the necessary and sufficient conditions for two Leary-Minasyan groups to be isomorphic. Theorem 1.1 classifies the groups \(G(A,L)\) up to isomorphism and thus completely resolves the first part of Question 12.3 of Leary and Minasyan [loc. cit], which requires to classify the groups \(G(A,L)\) up to isomorphism, commensurability and quasi-isometry.
