The authors study the existence of solutions for a second-order differential equation involving a causal operator complemented with two-point boundary conditions. The main tools of their investigation include a comparison result, the concept of upper and lower solutions, and the monotone iterative technique. The first result (Theorem 3.1) is concerned with the existence of only one solution, while the second result (Theorem 3.2) deals with the existence of extremal solutions for the given problem. Two examples are given for the illustration of the second result.
