    The paper is focused on a fourth-order nonlocal biharmonic evolution equation with Dirichlet boundary condition that arises in image restoration: \[ \frac{\partial u}{\partial t} = - \Delta_{NL} (\Delta_{NL} u), \qquad (x,t) \in \Omega \times (0,T), \] with \[ \Delta_{NL} = \int_{\mathbb{R}^N}J(x - y) (u(y, t) - u(x, t)) dy, \] \[ u(x,t)=0, \qquad (x,t) \in \mathbb{R}^N \backslash \Omega \times (0,T), \] \[ u(x,0) = u_0(x), \quad x \in \Omega. \] The nonlocal Navier problem can be written in the following form: \[ \frac{\partial u}{\partial t} = - \Delta_{NL} (\Delta_{NL} u), \quad (x,t) \in \Omega \times (0,T), \] where \[ \Delta_{NL} u(x,t) =0, \quad (x,t) \in \Omega_j \backslash \Omega \times (0,T), \] and \[ u(x,t)=0, \quad (x,t) \in \mathbb{R}^N \backslash \Omega_j \times (0,T), \] \[ u(x,0) = u_0(x), \quad x \in \Omega, \] where \( \Omega_j = \Omega + \operatorname{supp}(J)\) and \(\Omega\) is a bounded domain. It is proved the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the nonlocal problem by the variational method and it is shown that the solutions of the nonlocal problem converge to the solution of the classical biharmonic equation with Dirichlet boundary condition if the nonlocal kernel is rescaled appropriately. It is also discussed the asymptotic behavior of solutions for the nonlocal problems. The Navier problem is investigated by transforming it into a Dirichlet problem with a fixed point. The existence, uniqueness, convergence under the rescaling of the kernel, and asymptotic behavior of solutions to the Navier problem are discussed.
