The dynamic behavior of flexible shallow shells is simulated within the framework of the Ambartsumian theory using the theory of viscoelastic and viscoplastic deformations. The inelastic behavior of materials is described by the theory of flow with isotropic hardening. Transverse shears of structures during bending deformation and geometric nonlinearity are taken into account. The numerical integration of the corresponding initial-boundary value problem is carried out using an explicit cross-type scheme. The developed numerical-analytical model of the inelastic behavior of the material makes it possible to calculate the residual deformations and displacements of thin-walled structural elements. It is shown that neglecting the dependence between the plastic properties of the material and the strain rate may cause one to significantly underestimate a maximum deflection in absolute value and the largest strain value during oscillations, and cause one to overestimate a maximum residual strain. Residual deflection diagrams obtained by such a calculation do not agree with the diagrams obtained by a calculation that takes the mentioned dependence into account. It is revealed that loading the cylindrical elongated panel with an air blast wave during oscillations causes the structure to snap.
