    The so-called harmonic balance method is often used in looking for periodic solutions of ordinary differential equations by trigonometric polynomials. In the paper under review, there is shown that the harmonic balance method can be applied to prove the existence of almost periodic solutions of ordinary differential equations. Two cases are treated -- one-dimensional non-autonomous ordinary differential equations which admit a condition of hyperbolicity; higher-dimensional cases which admit an exponential dichotomy. By choosing a suitable approximation, the main result in the one-dimensional case is obtained in Section 3. The corresponding result in the higher-dimensional case is presented in Section 4. The paper is finished by an appendix, where some basic facts about almost periodic functions are collected.
