This paper studies the properties of the \(L^p\)-Wasserstein space \(({\mathbb{P}}_p(X), {\mathbb{W}}_p)\) associated to a compact non-branching metric measure space \((X,d,m)\) equipped with a qualitatively non-degenerate measure \(m\). The author shows that the set of Dirac deltas is invariant under isometries of the \(L^p\)-Wasserstein space, as long as the base metric measure space \((X,d,m)\) has good transport behaviour for some \(p\in(1,\infty)\). Moreover, the author has also proves that a sufficient condition ensuring the isometry groups of the \(L^p\)-Wasserstein space and of the base space coincide is given by the sectional curvature being strictly positive in case \(p=2\), and is given by the Riemannian manifold being a compact rank-one symmetric space for general \(p\in(1,\infty)\).
