The Stark problem is related to the integrable dynamics of an electron, attracted by a proton, in a constant external electric field. The main result of this paper relates the Stark problem to symplectic topology by means of concave toric domains. More precisely, the main theorem states that the bounded component of the regularized energy hypersurfaces of the planar Stark problem, for every energy value below the critical one, can be interpreted as the boundary of a concave toric domain. After describing the energy hypersurfaces the author illustrates the Levi-Civita regularization procedure. Then, by using a result of \textit{T. Delzant} [Bull. Soc. Math. Fr. 116, No. 3, 315--339 (1988; Zbl 0676.58029)], the image of the momentum map as the graph of a convex function is obtained.
