The authors consider the question of complete synchronisation (all oscillators are eventually stationary in a rotating frame, and have similar phases) in a directed network of nonidentical Kuramoto phase oscillators. The main result is that if the network contains a spanning tree and the initial phases are distributed in an open half circle, then for sufficiently strong coupling the phases will be confined to a small region in a quarter circle after finite time. A three-oscillator system is used to explain many of the results.
