Following the work of \textit{M. J. Ablowitz} and \textit{Z. H. Musslimani} [``Integrable nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equation'', Phys. Rev. Lett. 110, No. 6, Article 064105, 5 p. (2013; \url{doi:10.1103/PhysRevLett.110.064105}); Nonlinearity 29, No. 3, 915--946 (2016; Zbl 1338.37099)], there has been a surge of interest in nonlocal equations. The paper under review deals with three nonlinear Schrödinger models of this type: a nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NNLS) given in [\textit{M. J. Ablowitz} and \textit{Z. H. Musslimani}, loc. cit. (2013); loc. cit. (2016)]; a nonlocal derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NdNLS) given in [\textit{Y. Shi} et al., Nonlinear Dyn. 95, No. 2, 1257--1267 (2019; Zbl 1439.35419)]; and a more general nonlocal derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation (gNdNLS). For NNLS and (an equation equivalent to) NdNLS, global existence and uniqueness of solutions is shown, if the initial data belong to \(E^S_{\sigma}\) and a (necessary) condition on the support of their Fourier transforms is satisfied; the results obtained for NdNLS are readily extended to gNdNLS.
