This paper deals with a second-order nonlinear boundary value problem \begin{align*} {-\Delta }^{2}u(k-1) &=f_{k}(u(k)),~k\in \lbrack 1,n], \\ u(0) &=u(n+1)=0. \end{align*} Sufficients conditions for the boundedness and the positiveness of the solutions are obtained. Moreover, the relation of such solutions with those of the continuous problem \begin{align*} -u^{\prime \prime }(x) &=f(x,u(x)),~x\in \lbrack a,b], \\ u(a) &=u(b)=0 \end{align*} is investigated. Finally, some examples are given to illustrate the main results.
