In this paper, the author considers smooth manifolds and smooth maps. Let \(M_1\) and \(M_2\) be closed connected oriented 3-manifolds. For an oriented manifold \(N\), let \(E^m(N)\) be the set of isotopy classes of embeddings \(N \to S^m\). In this paper, the author gives a classification of \(E^6(M_1 \sqcup M_2)\). Further, as a corollary, the author gives also a piecewise linear classification. \newline The author defines \(W: E^6(N) \to H_1(N)\) and \(W_k: E^6(M_1 \sqcup M_2) \to H_1(M_k)\) and \(L_k: E^6(M_1 \sqcup M_2) \to H_1(M_k)\) \((k=1,2)\), called the Whitney invariants, where \(W\) is equivalent to the Whitney invariant due to \textit{A. Skopenkov} [Math. Z. 260, No. 3, 647--672 (2008; Zbl 1167.57013)], and \(W_k(f)=W(f|_{M_k})\). Let \(WL=W_1 \times L_1 \times W_2 \times L_2\). The main results are as follows. The map \(WL: E^6(M_1 \sqcup M_2) \to H_1(M_1) \times H_1(M_1) \times H_1(M_2) \times H_1(M_2)\) is surjective. The embedded connected sum action \(\#\) of \(E^6(M_1 \sqcup M_2)\) is transitive on each of the preimages of \(WL\). For any \([f] \in E^6(M_1 \sqcup M_2)\) and \([g] \in E^6(S^3 \sqcup S^3)\), the author determines a necessary and sufficient condition for \([g]\) to be in the stabilizer of \([f]\) under \(\#\), in terms of Haefliger invariants and linking coefficients.
