\textit{A. J. Blumberg} and \textit{M. A. Hill} [Adv. Math. 285, 658--708 (2015; Zbl 1329.55012)] introduced the notion of an \(N_{\infty}\)-\textit{operad} for a fixed finite group \(G\). This is an equivariant analogue of an \(E_{\infty}\)-operad, associated to a certain family of subgroups of \(G\times\Sigma_{n}\) for various \(n\); each such operad models homotopy-commutative \(G\)-equivariant ring spectra admitting a certain collection of norms. \textit{J. Rubin} then showed in [Algebr. Geom. Topol. 21, No. 7, 3513--3568 (2021; Zbl 1482.55011)] that \(N_{\infty}\)-operads correspond up to homotopy to certain \emph{indexing systems} for \(G\), and thus (by work of \textit{S. Balchin} et al. [Pac. J. Math. 315, No. 2, 285--304 (2021; Zbl 07480514)]) to \(G\)-\textit{transfer systems}: hereditary posets in \(\operatorname{Sub}(G)\) (the subgroups of \(G\)) closed under conjugation. The authors show that such transfer systems \(\mathcal{R}\) form a bounded lattice \(\operatorname{Tr}(G)\) (under refinement). Furthermore, they are in one-to-one correspondence (as posets) with \textit{weak factorization systems} \((\mathcal{L},\mathcal{R})\) on \(\mathcal{C}=\operatorname{Sub}(G)\) -- that is, pairs of classes of morphisms determining each other via the left (resp., right) lifting property, such that each \(f\in\mathcal{C}\) factors as \(f=pi\) with \(i\in \mathcal{L}\) and \(p\in \mathcal{R}\). They show that this correspondence preserves self-duality (that is, existence of an order-reversing automorphism of the poset). In particular, this applies to \(\operatorname{Sub}(G)\) when \(G\) is a finite abelian group. The final section of the paper is devoted to an analysis of transfer systems for \(C_{p^{n}}\) in terms of partitions of \(\{0,\dotsc,n\}\).
