On the compactness of the non-radial Sobolev space (Q2109040)

The aim of the authors is to study the existence resp. non-existence of an extremal function of the generalized critical Hardy inequality. They prove the existence of an extremal function of the critical Hardy inequality under spherical average zero. Useful is the last section, where the authors show an alternative proof of some Hardy type inequalities under spherical average zero. The paper gives an answer to a question posed in a recent paper by \textit{M.~Sano} [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl., Ser.~A, Theory Methods 200, Article ID 111965, 15~p. (2020; Zbl 1450.35013)].
