A left brace is a set \(B\) with two operations \(+\) and \(\cdot\) such that \((B,+)\) is an abelian group, \((B,\cdot)\) is a group and \(a(b+c)+a=ab+ac\) In [\textit{V. G. Bardakov} et al., Int. J. Algebra Comput. 30, No. 4, 839--851 (2020; Zbl 1458.16040), Conjecture 4.2] the authors conjectured that the number \(b(8p)\) of left braces of size \(8p\) for \(p\geq 11\) is a prime number. In the paper under review the authors describe all the isomorphism classes of braces of size \(8p\) in order to check the validity of this conjecture.
