Let \(G\) be a locally compact group, \(\Phi\) be a Young function and \(\omega\) be a weight on \(G\). The associated weighted Orlicz space is denoted by \(L^\Phi(G, \omega)\). For any \(S \subseteq G\), a family of left translations \(\{L_s \}_{s\in S}\) on \(L^\Phi(G, \omega)\), defined by \(L_s f (t) := f (s^{-1}t)\) for all \(t\in G\), is said to be \(S\)-universal if there exists a function \(f\in L^\Phi(G, \omega)\), called an \(S\)-universal vector, such that its \(S\)-orbit, namely, \(Orb_S( f ) = \{L_s ( f ) : s \in S\}\) is dense in \(L^\Phi(G, \omega)\). In the paper under review, the authors investigate some properties of the \(S\)-universality in the weighted Orlicz spaces \(L^\Phi(G,\omega)\), in which \(\omega\) is a \(\Phi\)-summable weight on \(G\). First, they show that any compact group \(G\) does not admit an \(S\)-universal vector in \(L^\Phi(G, \omega)\) and only the infinite dimensional weighted Orlicz spaces \(L^\Phi(G, \omega)\) may contain it. In particular, the authors establish that under natural restrictions the existence of an \(S\)-universal vector leads to find out that \(G\) must be second countable. Later, for each non-compact, second countable and locally compact group \(G\), a \(\Delta_2\)-regular Young function \(\Phi\) and an \(S\)-admissible weight function \(\omega\) on \(G\), the authors give a necessary and sufficient condition for \(\{L_s \}_{s\in S}\) to be \(S\)-universal on \(L^\Phi(G, \omega)\). Consequently, they characterize some other specific situations which guarantee an \(S\)-universal vector for \(\{L_s \}_{s\in S}\).
