The author shows that if the \(p\)-proximal contraction constant \(k\) with \( 0\le k< 1/3\), then the best proximity point theorem (Theorem 2.4) proved by \textit{I. Altun} et al. [Acta Math. Hung. 162, No. 2, 393--402 (2020; Zbl 1474.54107)] follows from the Banach contraction principle. If \(1/3 \le k < 1\) then the best proximity point theorem (Theorem 2.4) proved by the same authors follows from Theorem 2.5 which is already proved by \textit{M. Gabeleh} and \textit{J. Markin} [ibid. 164, No. 1, 326--329 (2021; Zbl 07377543)].
