Let \(f\) and \(g\) be arithmetic functions related by \(f=\mathrm{id}\ast g\) and satisfying some conditions including convergence of the sum \(C_f=\sum_{n=1}^\infty g(n)/n^2\). In the paper under review, the authors prove that \[ S_f(x)=\sum_{n\leq x}f\left(\left[\frac{x}{n}\right]\right)=C_f x\log x+\mathrm{a~reasonable~error~term}. \] As application, they consider the Euler function, the alternating sum-of-divisors function, the sum-of-divisors function, and the Dedekind function.
