    \textit{M. G. Madritsch} and \textit{R. F. Tichy} [Mathematika 65, No. 2, 400--435 (2019; Zbl 1432.11077)] established Diophantine inequalities for the fractional parts of polynomial-like functions. In particular, for the Piatetski-Shapiro sequence \(\{\lfloor{n^c\rfloor}+n^k\}_{n\ge 1}\), by taking \(f(x)=x^k+x^c\) where \(k\) is a positive integer, \(c>1\) is a non-integer and \(\xi\) a real number, they obtained \[ \min_{\substack{2\le p\le X}{p:\text{prime}}}\|\xi\lfloor{f (p)\rfloor}\ll_{k,c,\varepsilon}X^{-\rho_2(c,k)+\varepsilon}, \] where \(\rho_2(c, k)=1/2(2^{|c|+1}-1)\) (\(c>k\)); \(1/4^{k-1}(k+2)\) (\(c<k\)).The implicit constant depends on \(k\), \(c\) and \(\varepsilon\). In this paper, their results are improved when \(c>k\) and \(c>4\): \[ \min_{\substack{2\le p\le X}{p:\text{prime}}}\|\xi\lfloor{f (p)\rfloor}]\ll_{k,c,\varepsilon}X^{-\rho_f+\varepsilon}, \] where \(\rho_f=1/(24 c^2+36 c+30)\).
