A t-structure on a triangulated category \(\mathcal{C}\), consists of a pair of full subcategories \((\mathcal{U},\mathcal{V})\) satisfying some axioms that abstract the notion of complexes in a derived category \(\mathcal{D}\) whose cohomology vanishes in positive and negative degrees \((\mathcal{D}^{\leq 0},\mathcal{D}^{\geq 0})\). In this paper, the author proves that the subcategory of perfect complexes over a singular, Noetherian ring of finite Krull dimension does not admit bounded t-structures, i.e. a certain type of t-structure defined in Section 2 of the paper under review. This yields a classification of bounded t-structures on the subcategory of perfect complexes over Noetherian rings of finite Krull dimension, since the regular case was already studied by Tarrío, López and Saorín. Furthermore, by observing that t-structures on the subcategory of perfect complexes extend to t-structures on the derived category of the ring, the author is able to prove that if \((\mathcal{U},\mathcal{V})\) is a t-structure on the subcategory of perfect complexes over a singular, irreducible, Noetherian ring of finite Krull dimension, then either \(\mathcal{U}\) vanishes or it is equal to the subcategory of perfect complexes.
