The paper studies the relation between geometric properties of two projections, \(P\) and \(Q\), on a Hilbert \(C^*\)-module and the value of \(\|P-Q\|\). In particular, it is shown that if the product \(PQ\) as a bounded operator on the Hilbert \(C^*\)-module does not admit a polar decomposition, then \(\|P-Q\|=1\).
