A \textit{dcpo model} of a topological space \(X\) is a directed complete poset such that the set of all maximal points equipped with the relative Scott topology is homeomorphic to \(X\). It is known that each \(T_1\) space has a dcpo model. Naturally, questions are raised on how properties of a space and a model relate to each other. The main results in the paper under review are (1) A \(T_1\) space \(X\) is weak sober (any proper irreducible closed subset has a unique generic point) if and only if \(X\) has a weak sober dcpo model; (2) a \(T_1\) space \(X\) is a Rudin space (every irreducible closed set is a minimal closed set intersecting all members of some filtered family of saturated compacta) if and only if the model construction by \textit{X. Xi} and \textit{D. Zhao} [Math. Struct. Comput. Sci. 27, No. 4, 507--515 (2017; Zbl 1378.06005)] of \(X\) is a Rudin space; (3) the natural numbers with the cofinal topology are core-compact and \(\mathcal{U}_s\)-admitting, but their Xi-Zhao model is neither.
