Let \(k\) be an infinite field and \(n\) be a natural number. Suppose that \(P\) is a partition of \(n\) and \(B\) is the nilpotent Jordan matrix whose Jordan block sizes correspond to parts of \(P\). The nilpotent commutator of \(B\), denoted by \(\mathcal{N}_B\), is known to be an irreducible variety. Let \(Q(P)\) be the unique Jordan partition of a generic element in \(\mathcal{N}_B\). The map \(P\mapsto Q(P)\) is known to be idempotent (see [\textit{T. Košir} and \textit{P. Oblak}, Transform. Groups 14, No. 1, 175--182 (2009; Zbl 1168.15009)]) and to fix a partition \(P\) if and only if parts of \(P\) differ pairwise by at least two (see [\textit{D. I. Panyushev}, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 212, No. 4, 774--779 (2008; Zbl 1137.17017); \textit{R. Basili} et al., J. Commut. Algebra 2, No. 3, 295--325 (2010; Zbl 1237.15013)]). The paper confirms an earlier conjecture of P. Oblak, which gives an explicit recursive process to obtain \(Q(P)\) from the poset associated with \(P\). This is a beautiful result and is the culmination of earlier work [\textit{R. Basili}, J. Algebra 268, No. 1, 58--80 (2003; Zbl 1032.15012); \textit{P. Oblak}, Linear Multilinear Algebra 56, No. 6, 701--711 (2008; Zbl 1156.15011); \textit{A. Iarrobino} and \textit{L. Khatami}, J. Algebr. Comb. 38, No. 4, 947--972 (2013; Zbl 1286.15021); \textit{L. Khatami}, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 218, No. 8, 1496--1516 (2014; Zbl 1283.05272); Linear Algebra Appl. 439, No. 12, 3763--3776 (2013; Zbl 1305.15034)].
