One of the main aims of the paper under review is to introduce the noncommutative strong and uniform mixing coefficients which determine measures of the dependence between two von Neumann subalgebras of a non-commutative probability space. The authors prove some non-commutative mixing inequalities such as the Ibragimov inequality. Another goal of the paper is to show the weak law of large numbers for a special kind of uniformly integrable mixing sequences, namely, non-commutative \(L_1\)-mixingales. Finally, the authors introduce the notions of the non-commutative \(L_p\)-near-epoch dependence and \(L_p\)-approximability, and then they obtain some results concerning these concepts. More precisely, some conditions under which a non-commutative \(L_p\)-near-epoch dependent sequence is a non-commutative \(L_p\)-mixingale are given.
