A celebrated work of [\textit{L. Lempert}, Bull. Soc. Math. Fr. 109, 427--474 (1981; Zbl 0492.32025)], implied as a byproduct of subtle pluriharmonic analysis arguments the existence of complex geodesics (with respect to Kobayashi metric) on strongly lineraly convex domains in \(\mathbb C^n\). The first author of the article under review addressed the existence question of such geodesics with prescribed boundary data [\textit{X. Huang}, Ann. Sc. Norm. Super. Pisa, Cl. Sci., IV. Ser. 21, No. 3, 399--419 (1994; Zbl 0826.32020)]. The present article completes this circle of ideas with the subtle uniqueness question of complex geodesics with given boundary conditions. The authors rely on hard analysis of the Monge-Ampère equation with prescribed data on the boundary. The regularity of the boundary is \(\mathcal C^3\).
