The authors study uniform regularity (with respect to the Mach number) of solutions of the isentropic compressible Navier-Stokes system in smooth domains with the slip condition. Boundary layer effects related to fast oscillations are treated in an anisotropic functional setting. Then, local-in-time strong solutions are shown to exist on a time interval independent of the Mach number, and the incompressible limit is found.
