The paper under review deals with a generalized version of (logarithmic) Mahler measure attached to a discrete dynamical system. The case of the generalized Mahler measure of a univariate polynomial was considered by \textit{J. Pineiro} et al. [Progr. Math. 235, 219--250 (2005; Zbl 1101.11020)], then by \textit{L. Szpiro} and \textit{T. J. Tucker} [in: Number theory, analysis and geometry. In memory of Serge Lang. Berlin: Springer. 609--638 (2012; Zbl 1283.37075)]. By extending this study to multivariate polynomials, the authors prove a weak dynamical version of the Boyd-Lawton formula. Furthermore, they characterize the polynomials with integer coefficients having dynamical Mahler measure zero both for the case of one variable, i.e., Kronecker's theorem, and for the case of two variables, under the assumption that the dynamical version of Lehmer's question is true.
