The authors consider a continuous homomorphism \(\psi\) between two profinite groups and define a non-commutative bimodule of differentials corresponding to \(\psi\). It is proved that such a bimodule coincides with the Alexander module. The study is motivated by the Galois coverings of the projective line ramified over a finite set of points.
