For a compact group \(G\) a necessary and sufficient condition for the \(G\)-equivariant prequantizability can be expressed in terms of the \(G\)-equivariant cohomology of the given manifold \(M\). The trouble is that this condition cannot be computed directly in terms of \(\omega \in \Omega ^2(M)\) and the moment map \(\mu \). If \(G\) is a torus and \(\omega \) is symplectic then the pair \((\omega , \mu )\) is \(G\)-equivariant prequantizable if and only if \(\omega \) is integral and for a fixed point \(x\in M^G\) one have \(\mu _X(x)\in \mathbb{Z}\) for any \(X\in \ker(\operatorname{exp} _G)\). The paper under review generalizes this characterization for the case of non-abelian groups by using the notion of equivariant holonomy. Some interesting examples are discussed.
