\textit{M. Scheepers} [Topology Appl. 69, No. 1, 31--62 (1996; Zbl 0848.54018)] introduced the selection principles \(\mathrm{S}_1(\mathcal{A}, \mathcal{B})\) and \(\mathrm{S}_{\mathrm{fin}}(\mathcal{A}, \mathcal{B})\). \textit{L. D. Kočinac} [Publ. Math. Debr. 55, No. 3--4, 421--431 (1999; Zbl 0932.54022); Filomat 13, 129--140 (1999; Zbl 1009.54025)] introduced the star version of above selection principles, namely \(\mathrm{S}_1^*(\mathcal{A},\mathcal{B})\), \(\mathrm{S}_{\mathrm{fin}}^*(\mathcal{A},\mathcal{B})\), and \(\mathrm{SS}_1^*(\mathcal{A}, {B})\). \textit{R. Cruz-Castillo} et al. [Topology Appl. 300, Article ID 107758, 11 p. (2021; Zbl 1472.54003)] introduced some selection principles \(\mathrm{CS}_1(\mathcal{A}, \mathcal{B})\) and \(\mathrm{CS}_{\mathrm{fin}}(\mathcal{A},\mathcal{B})\), which are motivated by the Menger and Rothberger type classical star-selection principles and asked the following questions. Let \(\mathcal{O}\) denote the collection of all open coves of \(X\). Question 0.1. Are the selection principles \(\mathrm{CS}_1(\mathcal{O}, \mathcal{O}) \) and \( S_1^*(\mathcal{O}, \mathcal{O})\) equivalent? Question 0.2. Does the principle \(\mathrm{CS}_1(\mathcal{O}, \mathcal{O})\) imply the principle \(\mathrm{SS}_1^*(\mathcal{O},\mathcal{O})\)? Question 0.3. Does the principle \(\mathrm{CS}_1(\mathcal{A}, \mathcal{B})\) imply the principle \(\mathrm{SS}_1^*(\mathcal{A}, \mathcal{B})\) (or \(\mathrm{S}_1^*(\mathcal{A}, \mathcal{B})\))? Question 0.4. Are the selection principles \(\mathrm{CS}_{\mathrm{fin}}(\mathcal{O}, \mathcal{O}) \) and \(S_{\mathrm{fin}}^*(\mathcal{O}, \mathcal{O})\) equivalent? Question 0.5. Does the principle \(\mathrm{CS}_{\mathrm{fin}}(\mathcal{O}, \mathcal{O})\) imply the principle \(\mathrm{SS}_{\mathrm{fin}}^*(\mathcal{O}, \mathcal{O})\)? Question 0.6. Does the principle \(\mathrm{CS}_{\mathrm{fin}}(\mathcal{A}, \mathcal{B}) \) imply the principle \(\mathrm{SS}_{\mathrm{fin}}^*(\mathcal{A}, \mathcal{B}) \) (or \(\mathrm{S}_{\mathrm{fin}}^*(\mathcal{A}, \mathcal{B})\))? In this paper, the author answers positively to Question 0.1, 0.4 and negatively to Question 0.2, 0.3, 0.5, and 0.6. Further he defines some selection collection of families of subsets of a given set \(X\) to establish some implications between the above principles and results involving collections consisting of refinement and complements.
