\textit{M. Poddar} and \textit{S. Sarkar} [Osaka J. Math. 47, No. 4, 1055--1076 (2010; Zbl 1219.57023)] introduced the concept of a \(q\)-CW complex, by which they mean a complex whose cells are quotients of a standard cell by a finite group action. Right-angled Coxeter complexes are examples of a \(q\)-CW complex. Let \(X\) be a right-angled Coxeter complex, and let \(\pi\colon E\to X\) be a real orbifold vector bundle over \(X\). The author defines the orbifold Stiefel-Whitney classes of \(\pi\colon E\to X\). These classes are a generalization of the ordinary Stiefel-Whitney classes, and they satisfy the associated axioms. As an application, the author obtains the following result: Let \(P\) be an \(n\)-dimensional simple polytope. Then \(P\) is a product of two simple polytopes \(P_1\) and \(P_2\) of dimensions \(n_1\) and \(n_2\), respectively, if and only if, the Stiefel-Whitney classes of the tangent bundles satisfy \(w_n(TP)=w_{n_1}(TP_1)\cdot w_{n_2}(TP_2)\).
