      The paper is about 1D autonomous damped and delayed semilinear wave equations of the form \[ \partial_t^2 u(t,x) = a(x,\lambda) \partial_x^2 u(t,x) + b(x,\lambda,u(t,x),\partial_t u(t,x),\partial_x u(t,x),u(t-\tau,x)), \] with boundary conditions \( u(0, t) = \partial_x u(t, 1) = 0 \), and \( b(x, \lambda, 0, 0, 0, 0) = 0 \) for all \( x \) and \( \lambda \). The goal is to prove the existence and local uniqueness of families of non-stationary time-periodic solutions which bifurcate from the stationary solution \( u = 0 \). The proof is based on a Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction where a number of technical difficulties, such as the the Fredholm property of the involved opertators, have to be overcome.
