Quasi-polyadic algebras and their dual position (Q2134280)

This paper is a survey of quasi-polyadic (equality) algebras (QPEAs). These algebras are considered in the simple formulation given by \textit{I. Sain} and \textit{R. J. Thompson} [Colloq. Math. Soc. János Bolyai 54, 539--571 (1991; Zbl 0751.03033)], which shows their affinity with both cylindric algebras and, due to the presence of permutation operators \(p_{ij}\), also polyadic algebras. Analyzing the known results on QPEAs, the author traces in their behavior the similarities to and differences from cylindric and polyadic algebras. The paper includes a short history of algebraiztion of first-order logic, contains the necessary basic definitions, and mentions also some connections of QPEAs with relational algebras,
