Let \(H^2(\mathbb D^2)\) be the classical Hardy space on the bidisc \(\mathbb D^2\) and \(M\) be a submodule of \(H^2(\mathbb D^2)\), and \(K^M(\boldsymbol{\lambda},\mathbf{z})\) be the reproducing kernel for \(M\) such that \(\boldsymbol{\lambda}=(\lambda_1,\lambda_2)\) and \(\mathbf{z}=(z,\omega)\in\mathbb D^2\). The core function for \(M\) is defined as \(G^M(\boldsymbol\lambda,\boldsymbol{z})=(1-\bar{\lambda}_1z)(1-\bar{\lambda}_2\omega)K^M(\boldsymbol{\lambda},\mathbf{z})\) and the associated core operator is defined by \(C_M[f](\boldsymbol z)=\displaystyle\int_{\mathbb T^2}G^M(\boldsymbol\lambda\boldsymbol z)f(\boldsymbol\lambda)dm(\boldsymbol\lambda)\) for \(f\in H^2(\mathbb D^2)\) and \(\mathbb T^2\) is the standard two-torus. Then, the authors calculate the Hilbert-Schmidt norm of the core operator. Let \(A(\mathbb D^2)\) be the closure of polynomials in \(z\) and \(\omega\) under the norm of \(H^{\infty}(\mathbb D^2)\), the vector space of bounded holomorphic functions on \(\mathbb D^2\). The orthogonal complement of \(M\) is defined as \(N=H^2(\mathbb D^2)\ominus M\) which has a module structure over \(A(\mathbb D^2)\) defined by \(p\to S_p\) such that \(S_p[f]=P_Npf\) for \(f\in N\), \(p\in A(\mathbb D^2)\), and \(P_N\) is the \(N\)-valued orthogonal projection operator on \(L_2(\mathbb T^2)\). Let \(\varphi,\psi\) be two inner functions vanishing at zero. The authors consider the submodule \(M_{\varphi,\psi}=[\varphi(z)-\psi(\omega)]\) and its orthogonal complement. Also, they compute the following commutators \([S_z^*,S_z],[S^*_z,S_\omega]\), and \([S^*_\omega,S_\omega]\). The Fredholmness and the spectra of \(S_z,S_\omega\) are also conducted.
