The authors consider a nonlinear quartic Camassa-Holm equation derived by \textit{S. C. Anco} and \textit{E. Recio} [``A general family of multi-peakon equations and their properties'', J. Phys. A Math. Theor. 52, No. 12, 125--203 (2019; \url{doi:10.1088/1751-8121/ab03dd})]: \[ m_t+(\frac{1}{4}(u^2-u_x^2)+u(u^2-u_x^2)m)_x=0. \] Writing the Cauchy problem corresponding to this equation, they first prove global existence of peakons and perodic peakons. In order to proceed with orbital stability, they evaluate conservation laws. They obtain the following three laws: \begin{align*} H_0[u] & =\int_{\mathbb{X}}udx,\\ H_1[u] & =\int_{\mathbb{X}}(u^2+u_x^2)dx,\\ H_2[u] & =\int_{\mathbb{X}}(u^5+2u^3u_x^2-\frac{1}{3}uu_x^4)dx, \end{align*} where \(\mathbb{X}\) is either \(\mathbb{R}\) or \(\mathbb{S}\). They conclude the paper by proving that peakons and perodic peakons are orbitally stable.
