The Jacquet-Mao fundamental lemma is a comparison of relative integrals between \(\mathrm{GL}_r\) and a metaplectic twofold cover \(\widetilde{\mathrm{GL}}_r\) over a non-Archimedean local field \(K\). It is to be plugged into a comparison of global relative trace formulas to relate certain distinguished cuspidal representations of \(\mathrm{GL}_r(\mathbb{A})\) to metaplectic liftings from \(\widetilde{\mathrm{GL}}_r(\mathbb{A})\). The main goal of this work is to show that all ingredients in the Jacquet-Mao fundamental lemma are definable by a universal motivic exponential function in the sense of Cluckers-Loeser, by means of a first-order language. From this result and the Transfer Principle of Cluckers-Loeser, the fundamental lemma in the characteristic \(p \gg 0\) follows from the characteristic zero case established by the same author. The hard part is to show that the motivic nature of the function \(\kappa_K: \mathrm{GL}_r(O_K) \to \{\pm 1\}\) that appears in the splitting of metaplectic cover. Namely, it is specialized from a universal avatar \(\kappa_{\mathrm{univ}}\) (Theorem 10). This is addressed in Section 3.4. It would be of some interest to consider the case of other metaplectic covers.
