In this paper, the authors mainly study \(j\)-operators which have already been introduced by \textit{J. Tate} [Ill. J. Math. 1, 14--27 (1957; Zbl 0079.05501)]. As an application of \(j\)-operators, they obtain many results about liftings and weak liftings of DG modules along simple extension of DG algebras. At last, they give a characterization of (weak) lifting property of DG modules along simple extensions of DG algebras.
