For the slow-fast modified Leslie-Gower predator-prey model \[ \frac{dx}{dt}=x(1-x)-\frac{axy}{x+e_1},\;\;\frac{dy}{dt}=\varepsilon y\left(1-\frac{y}{x+e_2}\right) \] with the predator/prey growth rates ratio \(\varepsilon=\frac{r_2}{r_1}\) close to zero, the authors investigate the bifurcations occurring in the phase portrait. A special attention is paid to the degenerate transcritical bifurcation point behavior.
