\textit{J. Kotrbatý} [Adv. Math. 390, Article ID 107914, 28 p. (2021; Zbl 1475.52011)] defined a smooth \(k\)-homogeneous translation-invariant valuation \(\phi\) to be \textit{primitive} if \(\phi\cdot(V_1)^{n-2k+1} = 0\). Similarly, he defined \textit{coprimitivity} in terms of convolution: a smooth \((n-k)\)-homogeneous translation-invariant valuation \(\phi\) is coprimitive if \(\phi\ast(V_{n-1})^{\ast(n-2k+1)} = 0\). He gave there a conjecture about the values of Hermitian forms on nonzero primitive valuations, and an equivalent conjecture in terms of nonzero coprimitive valuations, and proved some significant cases, but left others open. In this paper, the author applies Kotrbatý's work and results from his earlier paper [\textit{S. Alesker}, Geom. Funct. Anal. 14, No. 1, 1--26 (2004; Zbl 1072.52011)] to prove several nice inequalities for mixed volumes of convex bodies. In three main cases, necessary and sufficient conditions for equality are obtained.
