Operators with expansive \(m\)-isometric liftings (Q2143274)

The author studies bounded linear operators \(T\), on a Hilbert space \(\mathcal{H}\), which have expansive \(m\)-isometric liftings for some integer \(m \geq 2\). Namely, he describes in terms of \(m\)-isometric liftings \(S\), with \(S ^\ast S\mathcal{H} \subset \mathcal{H}\), the operators \(T\) which satisfy an intertwining relation with a compression of an \((m-1)\)-isometry. The minimality of such lifting \(S\) is also characterized. In addition, the similarity of an operator \(T\) with the compression of some \((m-1)\)-isometry (for \(m \geq 2\)) is analysed and such operators are characterized by \(m\)-isometric liftings of a certain special structure (as well as in other different ways).
