A fuzzy descriptor nonlinear control system with uncertainties and time-varying delay is considered. A sliding mode observer is constructed, and an integral-type sliding surface for the corresponding error system is designed. Sliding mode control is proposed, guaranteeing, under suitable assumptions, reachability in finite time. An example is discussed.
