Examining the problem of uniqueness of universal (quantum) dimensions of simple Lie algebras, the authors search for non-uniqueness factors. Several non-uniqueness factors are derived, one of which is equivalent to 1, when restricted to each of the three -- \(sl, so, exc\) -- distinguished lines in P. Vogel's plane, and another one, which is equivalent to 1 on each of the four distinguished lines -- \(sl, so, sp, exc\) -- of Vogel's plane. ``Derivation of the latter has been carried out, using the remarkable connection of the problem of uniqueness with the theory of configurations of points and lines, which we establish by setting up a geometric interpretation of the non-uniqueness factors; it particularly corresponds to the \((16_3 12_4)\) configuration.'' ``This geometric interpretation of the uniqueness problem reveals the one-to-one correspondence of the non-uniqueness factor, which yields 1 on three distinguished lines, with the [\(\ldots\)] \((9_3)_1\) Pappus-Brianchon-Pascal configuration.'' A connection with the \((144_3 36_{12})\) configuration, whose existence is unknown, is also established.
