Let \(A\in\mathbb{R}^{n\times n}\) be (entrywise) nonnegative with row sums \(r_1(A),\dots,r_n(A)>0\). Using its average 4-row sums, defined by \(r_i(A^4)/r_i(A)\), \(i=1,\dots,n\), and extreme (i.e., largest and smallest) diagonal and off-diagonal entries, the authors present (under certain assumptions) bounds for its spectral radius. They also define a generalized \(k\)-Fibonacci matrix and apply their bounds to it.
