For a finite group \(G\), let \(\mathrm{cd}(G)\) denote the set of character degrees of \(G\). Finite groups \(G\) in which \(\mathrm{cd}(G)\) consists of prime power numbers have been described by \textit{O. Manz} [J. Algebra 94, 211--255 (1985; Zbl 0596.20007); J. Algebra 96, 114--119 (1985; Zbl 0567.20004)]. Now, let \(\mathrm{cd}_{rv}(G)\) denote the set of degrees of all the real-valued irreducible characters of \(G\). It is natural to think about the problem above for this set of character degrees. In the paper under review, the author describes finite non-solvable groups \(G\) in which \(\mathrm{cd}_{rv}(G)\) consists of prime power numbers. This extends the result by Manz. The author proves that if \(G\) is a non-solvable group such that \(\mathrm{cd}_{rv}(G)\) consists of prime-power numbers, then either \(\mathrm{cd}_{rv}(G)=\mathrm{cd}_{rv}(L_{2}(8))\) or \(\mathrm{cd}_{rv,2'}(G)=\mathrm{cd}_{rv,2'}(A_5)\), where \(\mathrm{cd}_{rv,2'}(G)\) is the set of odd real character degrees of a finite group \(G\).
