The paper studies a two-dimensional stochastic differential equation (SDE) predator-prey model with independent environmental multiplicative noises (driven by Wiener processes) on each species and positive initial conditions. The paper starts by deriving the predator functional response (similar to a Holling type II) based on searching and handling times of both its prey and additional food provided to the predator as a bio-control tool. The paper then proves that there is a unique global positive solution using appropriate changes of variable and comparison theorems, after which sufficient conditions are given for a.s.: (i) joint exponential extinction of the two populations; (ii) exponential extinction of the predator regardless of the prey population size. As intermediate results instrumental for the remainder results of the paper, bounds (upper and lower for the prey and lower for the predator) are found under appropriate conditions for the moments of order \(p\leq 1\). Also, the uniform continuity of the system solution is proved under some conditions. Defining persistence in mean of a population as having a.s. a positive \(\liminf_{t\rightarrow +\infty}\) of its long term population time-average, sufficient conditions are given for persistence in mean of the system. Finally, the system is shown to be globally attractive in mean when appropriate conditions are met. Monte Carlo simulations illustrate graphically different system behaviors. Finally, simulations show the behavior of a modified system with an extra independent white noise on the parameter that defines the additional food provided; however, no proof is shown that this modified system does indeed have a solution.
