The paper is a study of the Simpson-Mochizuki correspondence. Let \((E,D^{\lambda})\) be a \(\lambda\)-flat bundle over a complex projective manifold \(X\), where \(E\) is a vector bundle and \(D^{\lambda}\) is a flat (i.e. \(D^{\lambda}\circ D^{\lambda}=0\)) \(\lambda\)-connection. The \(\lambda\)-connection \(D^{\lambda}\) is the usual connection for \(\lambda=1\) and a Higgs filed for \(\lambda=0\). We can put a (\(\mu_L\)-)stability condition on \((E,D^{\lambda})\). By Simpson-Mochizuki correspondence, \((E,D^{\lambda})\) is \(\mu_L\)-polystable with vanishing Chern classes iff there is a pluri-harmonic metric \(h\) on \((E,D^{\lambda})\). Moreover this metric is unique in the sense that all stable summands of \((E,D^{\lambda})\) are orthogonal to each other and \(h\) restricted to each summand is unique up to scalars. Simpson-Mochizuki correspondence implies an equivalence between the category of \(\mu_L\)-polystable \(\lambda\)-flat bundles with vanishing Chern classes and the category of semisimple representations of the fundamental group \(\pi_1(X)\) into \(GL(r, \mathbb{C})\). The authors showed that this equivalence at categorical level provides a homeomorphism between the moduli space of \(\lambda\)-flat bundles with vanishing Chern classes and the Dolbeault moduli space. The argument is analogous to Simpson's non-abelian Hodge theory. The second result of the paper is to consider the Mochizuki correspondence in a more general framework where \(X\) is released to be a compact balanced manifold. The authors showed that for stable \(\lambda\)-flat bundle over \(X\), there is a unique harmonic metric on it up to scalars. Since \(X\) may not be Kähler, harmony is apparently a weaker condition than pluri-harmony. The strategy to find the metric is to construct it from an arbitrarily chosen metric \(h_0\). The authors consider a perturbed equation \(\Gamma_{\epsilon}(h_0,s(\epsilon))=0\), where \(\epsilon\) is a parameter and \(s(\epsilon)\) is a \(h_0\)-self-adjoint positive-definite endomorphism. A solution \(s(0)\) such that \(\Gamma_{0}(h_0,s(0))=0\) will provide a harmonic metric \(h_0\cdot s(0)\). They estimated \(L_2,L_1^p,L_2^p\)-norms of some functions related to \(s(\epsilon)\) and finally showed that either there exists \(\epsilon_n\rightarrow 0,~\Gamma_{\epsilon_n}(h_0,s(\epsilon_n))=0\) such that \(\lim_{n\rightarrow \infty}s(\epsilon_n)=s(0)\) exists and satisfies \(\Gamma_{0}(h_0,s(0))=0\), or there is a subsheaf destablizing \((E,D^{\lambda})\). Uniqueness can also be seen from their estimates in norms. Finally the author studied continuous self maps \(\psi_{(\lambda,t)}\) on the Dolbeault moduli space, with \((\lambda,t)\in \mathbb{C}\times\mathbb{C}^*\). They described the fixed points of \(\psi_{(\lambda,t)}\) and also discuss the asymptotic behaviors of \(\psi_{(\lambda,t)}\) around \((0,0)\) for \(X\) a Riemann surface.
