    Let \(\Omega \subseteq \mathbb{R}^N\) be a bounded domain with a \(C^2\)-boundary \(\partial \Omega\). The authors consider a Robin problem of the form \[ \begin{cases} -\Delta_{p(x)}u+ \xi(x)|u|^{p(x)-2}u=f(x,u) \mbox{ in } \Omega,\\ |D u|^{p(x)-2}D u \cdot \nu+\beta(x)|u|^{p(x)-2}u=0 \mbox{ on } \partial \Omega, \end{cases} \] where \(\Delta_{p(x)} u= \operatorname{div}(|D u|^{p(x)-2}D u)\) for all \(u \in W^{1,p(x)}(\Omega)\) is the \(p(x)\)-Laplace operator, \(\xi(x)|u|^{p(x)-2}u\) with \(\xi \in L^\infty(\Omega)\) and \(\xi \geq 0\) is a potential term, \(\nu(x)\) is the outer unit normal at \(x \in \partial \Omega\), \(\beta\in C^{0,\alpha}(\partial \Omega)\) with \(0<\alpha <1\). In the right-hand side, we find a Caratheodory function \(f\) satisfying appropriate conditions. Using variational tools from the critical point theory together with suitable truncation and comparison techniques, the authors establish the existence of at least five nontrivial smooth solutions, all with sign information and ordered.
