This manuscript improves the classic mean-field equation to simplify estimating (disease) network dynamics. While this could add value to manage pandemics, the lack of considering virus variants in the network dynamics has diminished the value of this research. Consequently, the usefulness has been reduced as well. Please re-model with the inclusion of virus variants in the network dynamics in several different scenarios.
