This manuscript proposes a model of recovery and death rates of COVID-19 and estimates time-dependent disease transmission rate that can aid health policy decision-makers and healthcare professionals. Like what the authors have pointed out, the prediction of outbreaks and effectiveness management are not yet meeting the crisis management demand. Plus, the unmanageable emergence of virus variants adds the uncertainty for pandemic progression and economic consequences. Therefore, without dealing with the prediction of virus variants over time, it is not useful to predict the so-called recovery and death rates in a fixed population. Please re-model the modelling for the calculation. This can result in several different scenarios in the prediction models.
