    Let \(B(x,r)\) denote the ball of radius \(r\) centered at \(x \in [0,1)\), let \(R_\alpha: [0,1) \rightarrow [0, 1)\) denote the rotation by \(\alpha \in [0, 1)\), and let \(\lambda\) denote the Lebesgue measure. The author proves that for any ergodic Lebesgue measure-preserving transformation \(f : [0,1) \rightarrow [0,1)\) and any decreasing sequence \(\{ b_i \}_{i=1}^\infty \subseteq \mathbb{R}^+\) with divergent sum there holds \[ \lambda \bigg( \bigcap_{n=1}^\infty \bigcup_{i=n}^\infty f^{-i}(B(R_\alpha^i (x),b_i)) \bigg)=1 \] for almost every \(x \in [0,1)\) and almost every \(\alpha \in [0, 1)\). A corollary of this result partially answers a question of \textit{J. Chaika} about interval exchange transformations [Geom. Funct. Anal. 21, No. 5, 1020--1042 (2011; Zbl 1286.37041)].
